Measure instead of guessing
A professional can inspect leaks and measure scum and sludge. Those measurements are more meaningful than the calendar alone.
Alternative systems differ
Systems with pumps, floats or mechanical treatment commonly require more frequent inspection even when the tank itself is not due for pumping.
Additives do not cancel pumping
Pumping physically removes accumulated contents. EPA does not recommend routine additives as a substitute for maintenance.
